Darren is a Director with Insite Architects and Managing Director of the Geelong office which was established in September 2009. He contributes over 16 years experience in the architectural industry in both large and small Architectural and Multi-Disciplinary practices. He has a broad understanding of the Planning, Architectural and Building processes through his experience in a varied range of project types and scales.

In all honesty, Architecture wasn’t my first career choice but as my childhood aspirations of playing Davis Cup for Australia or midfield for Geelong vanished I had to look for a "real job". Helping Dad out on his building sites - usually to pay for shattered tennis racquets led me to consider Architecture – the alternative to the frozen fingers and searing sunburn of the Carpenter / Builder's life. Plus, the Architect at the tennis club drove a very expensive sports car!
